Learning Goal: I’m working on a music question and need support to help me learn.

Now that we have examined the background of hip hop and discussed the four elements, let’s bring the discussion into the present. Hip hop has become a global phenomenon that has gone beyond just the music and the four elements. For this discussion, find a news article—no older than one month—that is related to hip hop. (A news/current events article, so no gossip: no TMZ or People magazine, for example. Another example: an album release is not an acceptable article. You should look for some intersection of hip hop with other current events.) You are not limited to national news; feel free to look at articles from around the world. Your discussion post should discuss the topic in the news article you chose and how it is connected to the historical material we have studied thus far. Please include a link to the article.
